Bernard “Trouter” Harvey (born October 27, 1955 in Kingston ) is a Jamaican pianist , keyboardist and organist . He is now a member of the well-known reggae band Inner Circle . Harvey grew up in Kingston in the thirteenth district (“Kingston 13”) and started playing music early. In 1971 he played for the first time with Carlton and Aston Barrett in the studio. Harvey’s first major appearance in the music industry was in 1974, when he played the reggae legend Bob Marley’s band The Wailers for Marley’s first truly solo album, Natty Dread , keyboard and organ at the age of 17 . He also played the organ in Marley’s song No Woman, No Cry , which became a world hit. Later Harvey played for other reggae artists like Burning Spear . In September 1980, he was again asked by Marley to perform with him on his North American tour; however, Marley was already mortally ill at that time and collapsed in those days in New York City when Harvey met with Marley for the last time. After Marley’s tour had been canceled thereafter, the plans for Harvey’s participation in Marley’s tour vanished.
